George Maple – Talk Talk (Ta-ku Remix)

In Chill, Electronic, R&B, Remix by Geran L1 Comment

Song: Talk Talk (Ta-ku Remix)
Artist: George Maple

Ta-ku blesses us with another remix, this time in the form of fellow Aussie George Maple’s “Talk Talk.” He slows things down on this one, playing with the pitch and even singing a verse of his own. The result is a haunting track with shuffling drums that immediately had me hitting repeat. It’s reminiscent of his “Songs To Break Up To” project and will definitely have you feeling things. If you need proof that the Australian music scene is killing it right now, look no further.

Lege Kale – 6th God (Drake Flip)

Song: 6th God (Drake Flip)
Artist: Lege Kale

There are a lot of halfhearted Drake remixes floating around lately and Lege Kale‘s production certainly isn’t one of them. I’ll even go as far as saying that it’s one of the best Drake remixes I’ve heard, period. Lege Kale’s “6th God (Drake Flip) is from the amazing Souletiquette compilation album, Ingenious Pleasure. This remix has Drake’s vocals pitched down and cloaked in layer of swinging jazz, with the cleanest bass kick you could ask for. Check it out.

The 22 year old Brazillian producer SANTS is set to release his first EP, titled “Chavoso” on Trapdoor Records in the near future. “Bico”, our first taste of the EP, takes on a menacing vibe— mixing soda can snaps, buzz saw synths, and air tight drum reps to create a deliciously sinister end piece.

Soul Clap – So Sedated

Song: So Sedated
Artist: Soul Clap

Once you start listening to this song you won’t want it to ever end. “So Sedated” is a dangerously infectious dance floor groove by Boston DJ duo Soul Clap. It’s deep funk bassline and heated synths are accented by shakers and chimes, but what really hooked me was the sultry vocal section, softly chanting “I can’t change it, so sedated, won’t you save me? Take me to the dance floor”. Enjoy.

Eliot Lipp – Telescope (ft. Mux Mool)

In Chill, Electronic, Instrumental by J FreshwaterLeave a Comment

Song: Telescope (ft. Mux Mool)
Artist: Eliot Lipp

This song came about when good friends Eliot Lipp and Mux Mool spent a day sifting through old records while discussing the beauty of this wild and crazy universe we call home. They ended up sampling Mike Oldfield – Saved By A Bell, a song originally released in 1984. “Telescope” is fuzzy and hypnotic, thumping along with a classic boom bap drum pattern that drives towards the pitched up vocal sample snagged from “Saved By a Bell”. It’s a greatly unique tune that serves as an example of what a little imagination and experimentation can achieve.

Song: Bloodstream /// Bootleg
Artist: FlicFlac

Known for his catalogue of excellent deep house remixes, FlicFlac graces us with another edit that’s certainly worth adding to his resume. This time it’s a zoned-out rendition of Ed Sheeran‘s “Bloodstream”. FlicFlac’s pulsing tropical instrumentation carries Sheeran’s vocals and guitar to energetic new heights, like a warm beach breeze before a heavy summer storm.
