The prominence of the chillwave genre may have been short lived, but that didn’t hold back BLACKBIRD BLACKBIRD’s evolution as a musician. He has surged forward as an electronic artist that stands apart; and his latest release “Dissolve” continues to push. This airy instrumental feels like chasing after a setting sun, soaring over top a sea of clouds. BLACKBIRD BLACKBIRD is forever fly.
An ease into Tove Lo’s delicate vocals, complimented with the simple snapping of fingers, Gryffin’s reinvention of this promiscuous tune into a refreshing blend of echoed vocals and a turned up tempo for the electric lovers to drool over. Adding an equally fantastic instrumental break down that puts his alternative pop vibe into a fan favorite. Gryffin’s growing productions and remixes continue to blossom and are certainly something to look forward to as an upcoming artist of 2015.
Super charged with her recognizable additions, TOKiMONSTA takes this pop-tronic dance beat to her usual level of amazing. A triumph of fun and fast tempo female-centric vocals; she keeps the integrity of the song strong and brings down the house party with the build up of sound and vibrating synth riffs that makes listeners ask themselves, where does this disco?
There has been a steady flow of #leftover beats popping up on Djemba Djemba’s Soundcloud tonight and a lot of them are gems. Seriously, if these songs are all “leftovers”, I can’t wait to hear the next official release. One of my favorites from the collection is the Mr. Carmack assisted “DARKERNATURE”. Both of these guys are huge, and it’s always a treat when they collaborate.

In 2014 OG Maco blew up with “U Guessed It“, and he’s proving it wasn’t a fluke. Maco is back with the 15 EP and he sounds hungry. That passionate hunger shines through most on the last song of the EP, titled “15”. Miguel Brücker lays the groundwork with a dose of mystical production, and OG Maco laces it with heavy handed verses demanding to be heard and assuring that he’ll have his 15 minutes of fame and then some.

Check this one out. Former Raider Klan member, Xavier Wulf’s flow is reminiscent of the dark dirty south sound that Three 6 Mafia brought about, and his ear for production is on point. Take the Purp Dogg produced “Mobile Suit Woe” for example. It’s the perfect light hearted contrast to Wulf’s aggressive rapid fire verses. Listen to more Xavier Wulf below. Read More
We recently went head over heels for Nick Leng’s “Leaves”, so another beautiful piece couldn’t come soon enough. Today is that day. “Tunnels and Planes” is an instrumental affair that feels like strolling though a warm spring shower. It’s soothing, lush, and sure to have you nodding you head.
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, 17 year old ATLian demo taped lets loose “I Luv You” from his upcoming EP. Here’s a description straight from the man himself: Effervescent Electronic Soul enhanced by soft vocals to emulate the feeling of love. Couldn’t have said it better myself.
