Sometimes, one of the best things about music is the spaces between the noise. While insanely complicated and intricate instrumental sections are fun to aurally gawk at, restraint and silence are undervalued. STWO, who is playing in paris in a few weeks, is clearly coming from this more minimalist school of thought. this track in itself is an interesting listen, yet it never “DROPs” as a pop song would (which is arguably quite refreshing). But the attention to detail behind the woodblock- and vocal-heavy ditty lures you to listen to everything else stwo has done to get the full effect. An artist working with the big picture is always exciting to see take off.
