The Japanese House – Sugar Pill

Song: Sugar Pill
Artist: The Japanese House

The Japanese House just released the Clean EP, and while there’s not a song on it I don’t enjoy, cut “Sugar Pill” resonates especially strongly. On it, plucky guitar weaves through shuffling percussion, ethereal synths and an eerie violin-like hum. Its a collage of sounds that is tied together by Amber Bain’s vocals, alternating between a chant like cadence and a beautiful swaying crescendo. Drenched in melancholy yet still managing to be uplifting, “Sugar Pill” should be taken for any and all ailments.
